Each afternoon after recess the students come back to the room to work on our "Problem of the Day!" I try and create a problem that focuses in on what we are learning in math or to review a concept we just finished. We read the problem together and then circle the most important information from the problem that will help us to solve it. This week I have been giving the students scrap paper to go back to their seat to try and solve the problem on their own. Here are some pictures from today's problem that shows some students solving the problem on their own at their seat and some of a student solving it for the group and explaining how she solved it. Be sure to regularly ask your child what the "Problem of the Day" was.
